Begin with the outcome

Before choosing an activity, decide what players should understand, practise or feel by the end of the session. That single decision makes the rest of the plan clearer.

Create a rhythm

A useful session moves with intention: introduce the idea, give players time to explore it, then bring the learning into a realistic game moment.

  • Keep instructions short
  • Let players make decisions
  • Finish by returning to the purpose

What we learned

The best session plans are clear enough to guide a coach and flexible enough to respond to the group on the day.
